Bag drop and belongings

There will be an (unsupervised) bag drop room signposted inside the school.

Please note that buggies, scooters, bikes or similar are not allowed in the race as they present a safety hazard.

Toilets

The school has kindly made its toilets available during the event. These will be indicated.

Food and drinks

Refreshments will be available on the day. During the race, water for runners will be provided around the 5K mark and at the finish line.

Contact

On race day, you can contact an official via telephone, this number will be made available on the day.

Race results

Each runner will have a chip with their number that records their race times. These times can be printed on the day and will be made available on our race routes page.

If you are running with your child in the fun run, please DO NOT wear your number as it may trigger the chip giving a false timing for your run.

Participants with disabilities

Our races are multi-terrain, the courses include steep footbridges, narrow gates and uneven surfaces. For more information and specific questions please contact the race committee.

Spectators and dogs

Dogs are not allowed in the school grounds.

We would welcome and encourage spectators to support the runners throughout the course. Dogs are permitted, however, please keep them on a leash and be considerate to runners, particularly smaller children who can be fearful of dogs.

Headphones and Earbuds

The wearing of headphones and earbuds (other than those medically prescribed) is not permitted in races on any carriageway road that is not fully closed to traffic. Runners must be able to hear instructions from marshals in these areas.

Photography

Photographs and videos may be taken for publicity and used by the race committee. If you do not wish for you or your children to appear in any published photo, please put a large thick line across the race number. Markers will be provided at the check-in desks.

Health and Safety

First aid is available and an ambulance will be present during the races on the course and the school grounds.

Participants are requested to wear suitable clothing and to carry additional water supplies if they are likely to need water before the 5K point.

Child safety

We will do all we can to create a safe environment for all people coming to the event, however, parents/carers bringing children are responsible for their wellbeing. There will be officials wearing high-visibility vests, so please talk to an official if you have any concerns.

Unable to run on the day?

You will not be able to change registered runner names. We are unable to offer refunds or process cancellations.

Delays and cancellations

In case of adverse weather conditions or other circumstances beyond our control, we reserve the right to delay or cancel the event. This will be determined solely by the race committee. Details of an event delay or cancellation will be communicated across our website and social media channels, so please check before race day.

Ecologically minded

St Barnabas Primary School is an Eco school and encourages students to think about a range of areas including waste reduction, energy saving, healthy living, water, biodiversity, transport and travel. Run Jericho also aspires to be an Eco event. Please consider bringing your own bottle, and arriving at the event by foot, bike or public transport if this is possible.

The organisers always go around the course after the race has finished to make sure that all areas have been cleaned of any rubbish and are in great condition, especially in Port Meadow.

We’re open to any green ideas you may have, so please get in contact.
